There are chances that on the odd occasion you will feel defeated for not being able to achieve the targets or for losing the race. But this is the reality and practically, it is a part of life as is for workplaces. But admitting and learning from defeats strengthens your knowledge for future use. On the other hand, if you didn’t accept the defeat you will keep trying to fix the old objectives which can never be done and hence, improvement will gradually go down which is not a positive factor for anyone’s professional career.

There are people who don’t know how to say a ‘No’, even if it’s the much required word to be pronounced. Evaluate your targets if they are achievable within the time limits and if you seriously feel it’s not your cup of tea, it is always better to say ‘No’. However, be prepared with a very good explanation for the ‘NO’. Your manager will be glad to hear the truth rather than seeing fake commitments. Saying ‘Yes’ to impossible is not wise and will finally just add to your workload, and you won’t be able to manage it.
