Most of my friends have taken to green tea just because they have been told that it aids in weight loss and gives a clearer complexion. No matter how it tastes, some people drink it religiously just for its benefits. But how many of you know its actual paybacks other than the two mentioned?

Green tea originated in China, but it has been widely used across Asia for thousands of years. Studies have revealed that this super beverage helps in lowering blood pressure and allegedly helps in preventing cancer. It is said that green tea retains all its good properties because of the way it is processed. Unlike black tea, which allows fermentation during processing, green tea processing shuns this method. Therefore, green tea is loaded with polyphenols like flavonoids and catechins, which function as powerful antioxidants..
